A DUTY Carry 2011 ! OA Defense 2311 Compact Pro Review

OA Defense 2311 Compact Pro Review | A Duty & Competition Ready Double Stack 1911

What's good, YouTube? It's your boy Tony D2Wild, checking in once again! Today, we’re reviewing the OA Defense 2311 Compact Pro — a double stack 1911 that blends the best of both worlds: a duty pistol with the performance of a competition-ready firearm.

What’s in the Box?

  • Comes with a flared magwell, 17-round magazines, and a variety of accessories including optic plates for easy customization.

  • The Plus Kit also includes five 17-round magazines and a compact magwell adapter for those who prefer a smaller profile.

Specs:

  • Caliber: 9mm

  • Barrel Length: 4.25"

  • Overall Length: 7.75"

  • Height: 5.1"

  • Width: 1.4"

  • Weight: 25.5 oz (unloaded)

  • Trigger Weight: 3.5 to 4 lbs

  • Capacity: 17+1

Key Features:

  • Flat-faced aluminum trigger with a 90-degree break and crisp reset.

  • Ambidextrous features: mag release, slide stop, and ambidextrous gas pedal for better grip and handling.

  • Ported barrel for reduced recoil and muzzle rise.

  • Full-length dust cover and reduced slide cuts to enhance weight reduction.

  • Redesigned frame with an enlarged trigger guard for easy access.

My Thoughts:

  • This 2311 feels like a perfect blend of duty and competition — it’s well-built, durable, and versatile.

  • The trigger is one of the best I’ve used, with a very nice crisp pull and reset.

  • Recoil management is fantastic, especially with the ported barrel.

  • The magwell is large, allowing quick reloads, and the grip stippling provides excellent traction.

  • The trigger safety is wide, allowing for comfortable and accurate pulls.

Pros:

  • Smooth shooting with minimal recoil.

  • Very customizable, with options for different optics and magazine sizes.

  • Highly accurate and ready for both competition and carry.

Cons:

  • Slightly heavy for everyday carry, but that’s to be expected from a full-size 1911.

  • Needs proper lubrication when first using it to avoid issues with the slide.

I’m super excited about this pistol! OA Defense knocked it out of the park with the 2311 Compact Pro. Stay tuned for more updates and follow-up reviews once we hit the 1,000-round mark.
